This post is reserved to explain resources. So, for now, I will not go into depths about that. Like which Nation are you playing, on what kind of land type you are playing, with how many resources are you starting, etc, etc. There is not really some proven 100% working scheme on that, because that depends a lot on other factors. Some players argue about how you should start, on which resource you need to focus first, and stuff like that. There are so many strategies on gathering resources. Here, as I said earlier, I am just explaining the basics of Cossacks. If you start with low resources it might not be a good idea to build mines right away, or you may not have enough resources for other buildings like blacksmith or barracks. In order to collect this resources you need to build mines, so be careful at the beginning. So, for Gold, obviously, yellow color, for Iron, it is kind of brownish, and for Coal is some mixture of black and gray, but mainly black. You will know which type of mine (gold, iron, or coal) it is, by the color of the holes. It is a little hole on the map where mines can be build. When you select a peasant and choose to build mine, you need to find a mine hole. First thing you need to know is that you can’t build a mine anywhere on the land. Peasants will bring food into the mill.įor other 3 types of resources – Gold, Iron and Coal, which I call resources gathered from mines, you need to build mines in order to collect it. You don’t need to build a storehouse for gathering food. After some time, you will be able to harvest. When you build the Mill, grain – crops will start growing. You need to build the Mill ( which is second (in some players opinion first) thing that you should do when you start the game of Cossacks). When it comes to food, you need an extra building structure. The Cossacks game play style will help you to make sure you clicked where you wanted by switching the cursor picture into ax (for wood) and pick (for stone). You just need to select the peasants, and right click on the source you want to collect. As soon as you have built the Town Hall (which is the first thing you have to do when you start the Cossacks game), you will be able to collect wood and stone with your peasants. Without it, peasants don’t have a place to store the resources that they have collected. For that purpose, you need to have either a Town Hall building, or a Storehouse building built. In other words, peasants need to bring resources somewhere, when they collect it. Of course, to gather those, your peasants need to have collecting place for it. Those resources are Food, Wood, and Stone. Resources gathered from ground are resources that you can find on the land, and you just need to tell peasants to collect. Resources gathered from ground, and resources gathered from mines. Whenever I try to explain the Cossacks game play from scratch to some new player, when it comes to resources, I divide them in a 2 main groups. Those are: Wood, Food, Stone, Gold, Iron, and Coal. There are 6 types of resources in Cossacks. So, lets get right on to the first one – Resources. So, every info, or tip, or fact refers to Cossacks Back to War game. Once again, I want to point out, that on this blog, I talk about Back to War expansion. As I promised, I will feel this category (Cossacks Back to War) with the basics sections of Cossacks game explained.
